DESCRIPTION:We are getting ready for summer at Camp Chula Vista! \nAre you joining us this year? \n  \nIf you or someone you know are interested in serving as a counselor at CCV this summer\, please begin by completing the online application. Applicants must be 21 years old to serve at Junior and Senior High camps\, 18 years old to serve at Primary and Intermediate camps\, or 16 years old to serve as a junior counselor at Primary and Intermediate camps. Applicants over 18 must pass a background check\, and all applicants must have a pastoral recommendation. \n  \nCounselors will be contacted by the directors of the camps and will have a Zoom meeting with the director and other counselors approximately one month before camp. \n  \nAdditionally\, all counselors must participate in training. We have some options: \n\n\nIn person counselor training and camp work day at Camp Chula Vista\, May 6\, 9am – 2pm.  \n\n\nOnline video training. Returning counselors are required to watch the first two training videos. New counselors must watch all videos. Returning counselors are encouraged to watch additional training videos. \n\n\n  \nPlease pass this along to others who may be interested in serving as a counselor this summer! DESCRIPTION:Calling all ministers!  Our annual minister’s meeting is March 11 – 9 AM – 2 PM at Riverchase Community Church.  We need you to at this meeting because we will be approving pastors\, approving churches\, and voting on ministers to be licensed and ordained.  Karl Vaters\, author of “The Grasshopper Myth “and “Small Church Essentials” will be speaking to us in two sessions on “What’s Working in Churches that are Thriving’ and “Three Ways a Small Church can be an Effective Church.”  You do not want to miss this essential and informative meeting. \nMore about Karl Vaters. Karl has been in pastoral ministry for 40 years. He is the teaching pastor of  Cornerstone Christian Fellowship\, a healthy small church in Orange County\, California\, where he has ministered for over 28 years with his wife\, Shelley. They have three kids and two grandkids. \nKarl produces resources for  Helping Small Churches Thrive at  KarlVaters.com. His heart is to help pastors of small churches (up to 90 percent of us) find the resources to lead well\, and to capitalize on the unique advantages that come with pastoring a small church – something virtually every pastor will spend at least some of their ministry years doing. \nHe also believes that big and small churches can and should work together more often – to the benefit and blessing of everyone.

DESCRIPTION:North Alabama Minister’s Fellowship Meeting – Potluck Dinner for Ministers and Spouses \nNorth Alabama Ministers Fellowship – it is time to renew our gatherings as the Fall Season quickly approaches.  Our next meeting will be at the New Life Church of God in Falkville\, 1160 W Lacon Road\, Falkville\, Al\,35622.  Philip and Renee Hardin have graciously opened up the church for us on Monday\, Sept. 26 at 6:30 PM.  Spouses are invited and encouraged to come.  This gathering is a carry in\, pot luck meal so we are responsible to provide the delicious meal and New Life will provide drinks and plates for the meal.  I hope to see you at New Life for a good time of fellowship and encouragement. DESCRIPTION:We have a wonderful training opportunity this weekend for pastors\, ministers\, and student leaders.  The conference is entitled “Transforming your Community Through a Missional Vision.  The resource leader is Handel Smith.  Handel has been leading visioning conferences all over the United States and come with some powerful tools for your church to reach your community. The other conference is for student ministry leaders and is led by Nathan Alred.  Nathan has been training student leaders from many years and specializes in training volunteer leaders. Both conferences are 9 AM – 3 PM with lunch from 12-1.  We ask for a $10 donation with a cap of $50 per church.  But it is a donation not a fee. Please come even if you cannot pay.  Lunch is $12.  Please let me know ASAP if you can come and how many are coming.
